How do I become a mentee?

Fill out the Mentee signup sheet. Once you submit, you will be come part of our pool of mentees and will be matched with a mentors in the coming weeks.

Do I have to pay anything to be mentored?

No. This is event is 100% free.

Can I choose my mentor or mentee?

Unfortunately, you can't choose your mentors or mentees. However our virtual space will include an open area for attendees to network freely outside of their scheduled mentorship time slot.

 How do you match me?

Our team of industry professionals dedicates the time to ensure the best possible matches for all attendees. This includes a rigorous, manual process that looks at what mentees are looking for and what mentors are offering. This is how we maintain a high quality match for everyone.

All mentees will be matched with at least 2 mentors.

As a mentor, how many people will I be matched with?

In the Mentor signup sheet, you will dictate how many mentees you can be matched to. We will honor that selection.

How will I know I've been matched?

Starting October 1st, we will send email introductions to all matched attendees. This email will include an explanation on who your mentor or mentee will be, their experience so far, and what topics mentees would like to cover.

How do I meet my mentor or mentee?

In your email introduction with your match, you will be encouraged to set up a time that works for both of you from October 15-17, 2021 on our virtual platform Gather Town or a video call platform of your choice.

However, we understand that sometimes finding availability can be difficult. If you can't find a time that's available, we encourage matches to find another date or time slot between October 11-22, 2021.

How long is my session with my mentor or mentee? How many times will I meet them?

All matches have a single 30-minute session. Sessions can be longer based on your match's availability.

However, if you feel that you'd like to continue meeting with your match professionally, we encourage you to sync via email to explore the possibility of a ongoing mentorship arrangement.

What will I talk about with my match?

In your email introduction to your match, we will include a list of topics to discuss based on your signup sheets.

In order to make the most of your time, we ask that:
1. You keep introductions short – that's what the email introduction is for!

2. Maximize your time with your match by limiting to 1-2 topics to discuss. Quality over quantity is best in this case.

What should I do if a mentor or mentee missed our session?

First, reach out to your match to reschedule.

If your match doesn't respond, reach out to Coraly Rosario at prgdaa@gmail.com for next steps.

What if my match never responded to our email introduction?

Immediately contact Coraly Rosario at prgdaa@gmail.com. We will find you another mentor or mentee ASAP.

I don't speak English. No hablo ingles. Eu nao falo ingles.

That's ok! We will ensure you're matched with someone that speaks your preferred language selected in your signup sheet.

I have other accessibility needs.

Reach out to Coraly Rosario at prgdaa@gmail.com for assistance.
